Photo Art Book 360° is an innovative artistic project by photographer Yanick Déry and artistic director Fang Fang. Its objective is to raise 41 millions euros for foundations or charitable organizations all over the world, including the Montreal Diet Dispensary.
Donors choose one of the 360 pages of the Book and Yanick Déry creates an original picture according to their wishes. Each page has a unique value of 100 to 1 million euros. 75% of this amount will be donated to the foundation chosen by the donor. This is what the enterprise “ Ima Bulle” has done in choosing the MDD. The photo session for this page was held on the 7th of February at the Théâtre National. Fundraising Evening at Harricana On December 2nd, 2009, more than 200 people attended at the Harricana benefit evening organized by Christine Maestracci and the MDD with the great collaboration of the designer Mariouche Gagné and numerous artisans and partners. This evening permitted us to raise $7 500, the amount required by the MDD to provide 40 pregnant women in need with food supplements.
The 2009 MDD Christmas Baskets This year, the MDD prepared 50 Christmas Baskets for its clients (a Christmas basket is composed of some food, toys, sometimes clothing and is complemented by food vouchers). The delivery was done by 10 volunteers and their friends. Also, an additional 36 Christmas baskets were prepared and delivered to our clients either by individuals or by students from a Ville St-Laurent school or by a social organization in Beaconsfield. Thus, 86 families received Christmas Baskets via the MDD. This is without mentioning numerous clients who, from mid-December, came to the MDD and have left with toys and food or, for 160 of them, a check from The Gazette Christmas Fund. Did you know that most of the new toys that we offer to our clients were given to us by CHM Communications, an agency who, for the past 27 years, coordinates the collection from several drop off centers in Montreal, including those found in Second Cup cafés. A very big thank you to CHM as well as to all our donors and volunteers.
